Evergreen Trail – Skagit County, Washington

“Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher” ~ W. Wordsworth

Larry, Zeke, Coco and I took off one Saturday morning to hike the Evergreen Trail, the trail head of which is 96 miles northeast of Seattle in  Concrete, Washington.  This trail was the first one we hiked as a family in Washington. I hiked the Rattlesnake Ledge Trail and one of Mount Si’s trails before Larry and the pups arrived to the Pacific Northwest.

The drive up to the north central Skagit County hiking excursion is picturesque, boasting two-lane highways shaded by lush tree canopies.  Much of the drive to the trail head has awesome views of seemingly up-close mountain ranges, many of which remained snow-capped even though our hiking trip occurred at the end of July.
